Milwaukee Tool's Payment Processing Modernization: One Payment Backbone for Every Platform
Modernizing a business-critical payment service in place, without disrupting the platforms that depend on it
The Client · Milwaukee Tool is a global manufacturer of professional-grade power tools and jobsite equipment

Overview
Milwaukee Tool is the flagship, multi-billion-dollar brand of a larger industrial conglomerate, obsessed with the professional trade end user and known for its fully interchangeable cordless battery ecosystem and connected-tool platform. It engaged Taller to modernize the payment backbone shared across its customer-facing and internal platforms.
The Problem
The company's credit-card payment-processing service was legacy technology carrying business-critical load. Used company-wide (by the customer service portal, the internal service platform, and the main sales-order platform), it was the service every new platform depended on, and its robustness set the ceiling for everything above it.
The Solution
Taller owned the payment-processing service and modernized it incrementally, without disrupting the operations that depended on it. The service was exposed as a shared backbone consumed by customer-facing and internal platforms alike, with automated security scanning through Snyk in the delivery pipeline and infrastructure, source code, and CI/CD owned end to end on .NET and Azure with Terraform and Azure DevOps.
The Impact
A single, hardened payment backbone now serves every commerce and service platform in the company. New platforms integrate the shared payment service without re-implementing it, and business-critical payment flows run on a service built for robustness and scale.
