Milwaukee Tool's Integration Platform Migration: MuleSoft to Azure-Native Microservices

Milwaukee Tool is the flagship, multi-billion-dollar brand of a larger industrial conglomerate, obsessed with the professional trade end user and known for its fully interchangeable cordless battery ecosystem and connected-tool platform. It engaged Taller to rebuild its integration backbone.

The integrations team (the bridge between the company's business units) ran on a MuleSoft platform with performance problems and a costly contract renewal on the horizon. At the same time, the company was moving its ERP from Dynamics AX to Oracle, which meant the integration layer had to absorb new volume in the middle of its own replacement.

Taller migrated the majority of the integrations from MuleSoft to Azure-native services and kept growing the platform to support the new volumes the ERP migration required. The team rebuilt integrations as microservices on Azure Container Apps, processing data from Oracle and translating it for the downstream systems that handle orders, invoices, and warehouse data, while renewing the platform UI, strengthening logging, and provisioning infrastructure with Terraform. The stack centered on C#, Azure, SQL, and React.
