Digital Mortgage Operating System: Application, Approval, Closing
Adding engineering capacity across the homeownership stack as the platform scaled
The Client · The leading US digital mortgage lender

Overview
The leading US online mortgage lender engaged Taller in 2025 to add individual-contributor engineering capacity as it scaled its proprietary platform and absorbed two acquisitions. Taller’s roles spanned frontend, backend, cloud infrastructure, Salesforce, and legacy modernization.
The Problem
The lender ran a proprietary, AI-driven homeownership platform that integrated search, origination, title and closing, servicing, and personal finance, all built and operated in-house. As the company scaled the platform and absorbed acquisitions (a real-estate search platform and a mortgage-servicing company), its engineering organization needed additional capacity across frontend (Angular 17+), backend APIs, cloud infrastructure, Salesforce, and legacy-system modernization, without putting platform stability at risk.
The Solution
Taller contributed individual-contributor engineering capacity across the lender’s organization: senior and staff frontend engineers on Angular 17+, senior and staff backend engineers on the API layer, lead and senior cloud-infrastructure engineers on the AWS platform, and a senior engineer working on legacy-system modernization in 2026.
The Impact
Engineers integrated quickly, built credibility through early delivery, and were welcomed into the existing teams. These outcomes belonged to the lender’s proprietary platform; Taller’s contribution was the engineering capacity added across frontend, backend, and cloud infrastructure since 2025.
