Kforce's Enterprise Reporting on Microsoft Fabric: One Semantic Schema for Every Business Unit

Kforce is midway through an enterprise modernization program, replacing its legacy recruiting and business systems with a modern, integrated platform. This engagement rebuilt the firm's enterprise reporting as part of that program's flagship data initiative.

The firm's reporting ran on several core systems and archaic technology that demanded constant hands-on support, around $500K a year just to keep it running as it was, while inconsistent reports across business units eroded trust in the numbers. With competitors modernizing, staying on the legacy stack meant missed opportunities and the real risk of clients moving to firms with updated technology.

As part of the firm's flagship data initiative, Taller helped rebuild enterprise reporting on Microsoft Fabric: creating a new schema built on semantic models with fact and dimension tables to provide reliable information from one source, rebuilding enterprise reports in Power BI on that unified schema with consistency across business units, structuring Fabric workspaces, and standardizing and improving CI/CD for reporting workloads. Taller's business analysis ran the program's backlog, eliciting requirements, converting them into user stories, and driving refinement and planning, inside an embedded ten-person team working two-week sprints through Azure DevOps, with contingency planning absorbing the top-level decisions a program of this scale keeps generating.
