The brand's online stores ran on a patchwork of region-by-region codebases, which made every worldwide change slow, costly, and risky. Taller embedded engineers to consolidate those storefronts onto one global platform and modernize the fulfillment, integrations, and testing behind it.

As the brand expanded internationally, it quickly outgrew its existing e-commerce infrastructure. Each region ran on its own separate codebase, built on heavily customized, aging Salesforce Commerce Cloud implementations, so every worldwide change was expensive: a single global update could mean editing several codebases at once. Because the platform stored its data as XML (an older, verbose data format) and each region behaved differently, that complexity compounded quickly. On top of that, fulfillment relied on manual processes, global product launches were chaotic, and keeping product information current took heavy manual upkeep. Technology was on its way to becoming the bottleneck to the company's growth.

Taller's engineers worked embedded within the brand's fulfillment and consumer-confidence teams, providing continuous engineering across the global platform. They automated a previously manual fulfillment process (validating information, applying business rules, and updating systems automatically) and re-architected for scale: an event-driven design for scalability and looser coupling, an API-first approach to integrations with automated validation and error handling, and real-time data synchronization across the commerce and middleware systems, monitored through Splunk. Because most of the client's processes had no off-the-shelf answer, the team built custom workflows and integration patterns from scratch, while bringing unit testing, automated build-and-deploy pipelines (CI/CD), and accessibility discipline to a codebase where those had been weak points, including a custom AI-driven workflow that generated unit tests automatically. On the commerce side, the team built a sophisticated pricebook structure and enriched product information, streamlining price management and improving both accessibility and the shopping experience on product pages. The technology stack spanned Salesforce Commerce Cloud B2C, C#/.NET, JavaScript, REST APIs, Cosmos DB, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and GitHub Copilot.

Most regions now run on a single shared codebase, with region-specific “cartridges” (modular add-ons that hold local behavior) isolating what differs from market to market, replacing the fragmented per-region setups that had made global change prohibitively expensive. Fulfillment now runs with less manual intervention, fewer processing errors, and far greater data consistency between systems; promotions deploy faster through the new pricebook architecture; and the manual effort of keeping product information current has been largely designed away. The AI-driven unit-testing workflow shortened development cycles, letting the team ship features faster than a standard implementation would allow.
